Drawing a vibrant picture of the landscape and running toward the future, the fourth "Feiyang Cup" micro-marathon, hosted by Xiangyang Village in Shiqiao Street, Lishui District, kicked off passionately on the morning of October 13. Hundreds of running enthusiasts gathered at the scenic shores of Shijiu Lake, measuring the beauty of the countryside with their footsteps and reaping endless joy through exercise.

“3, 2, 1, go!” At 8:16 AM, accompanied by the natural melody of the wind rustling through the rice fields, the participants set off from the Shijiu Lake viewing platform. They ran along the track, enjoying the picturesque views of Shijiu Lake while traversing the golden rice paddies. Everyone was full of energy and excitement, immersing themselves in the autumn scenery of the picturesque Xiangyang Village and experiencing the unique charm of the lakeside water town, creating a brilliant scene of national fitness that complemented the bountiful harvest of Xiangyang.

This micro-marathon was divided into a competitive group and a villagers’ group, with a course length of 9 kilometers. Both the starting and finishing points were set at the Shijiu Lake Stone Yard viewing platform. The route connected the "Mirror of the Sky" and the golden harvest segment of the Xiangyang Village rural revitalization demonstration belt, making it an excellent outdoor running route.

On the track, the participants raced against each other, fully unleashing their speed and passion. “This is my first marathon, and it feels great,” said Aminjon, a student from Tajikistan studying at Jiangsu Second Normal University. He praised the beautiful scenery along the route, the fresh air, and the enjoyable running experience, describing it as a "treasure" village suitable for running and sightseeing

After intense competition, Zhong Wenjie won the men's championship in the competitive group, while Ren Xiuzhi took the women's championship. Bian Gongchuan secured first place in the villagers’ men's group, and Wu Runpeng won first place in the villagers’ women’s group.

Compared to previous years, this year’s Xiangyang "Village Marathon" had a broader reach, more events, and greater fun. In addition to the traditional micro-marathon, the event also featured a joyful park run and individual sports competition. The joyful park run, organized by families, involved two segments: checking in and egg hunting, allowing participants to enjoy the joy of exercise while enhancing parent-child relationships. The individual sports competitions, including jump rope, plank hold, and kicking feathers, attracted many enthusiastic participants, creating a lively atmosphere on-site.

As a signature event of Xiangyang Village in Shiqiao Street, the "Feiyang Cup" micro-marathon has been held four times and is popular among running enthusiasts. “We can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Shijiu Lake during the race, and after finishing, we even receive ‘Feiyang’ local dishes and rice, experiencing the joy of rural harvest. We all love participating,” said running enthusiast Guo Yongyin.

In recent years, Xiangyang Village has carefully developed the “Feiyang local dishes” specialty agricultural product project, achieving a "win-win" situation for both collective economy and villagers’ income, paving a unique path for rural revitalization. Last year, Xiangyang Village was honored as a "National Model Village for Rural Governance." “We are actively exploring new models for rural revitalization, injecting new vitality and hope into it through the protection of rural landscapes and the integration of agriculture and tourism,” introduced Huang Pingping, Secretary of the Xiangyang Village Party Branch. He hopes that through the "Village Marathon" and the combination of industrial development and the "Mirror of the Sky" feature, more people will be attracted to understand and experience the beautiful rural scenery and vibrant development of Xiangyang Village.
